The Beginnings of VMTC

The Vision of Anne S. White

Victorious Ministry Through Christ (VMTC) began with a divine encounter that changed one woman’s life and sparked a movement of healing, deliverance, and transformation. VMTC traces its roots back to  Ann S. White, a charismatic evangelist with a deep passion for spiritual awakening. Though she witnessed many come to Christ, she sensed that something was missing—people sought healing, but their struggles remained. This desire for deeper freedom and transformation became the driving force behind her ministry.

A Divine Revelation Through Prayer

Anne’s personal breakthrough came in an unexpected way. Her young son suffered from severe asthma, resistant to medical treatment. In the stillness of a desperate night, Anne turned to prayer. During that time, God revealed a hidden spiritual barrier—unforgiveness. Convicted, she confessed a long-held resentment toward a family member. Immediately, she experienced a powerful shift, and miraculously, her son’s condition improved instantly. This divine revelation became the foundation of her lifelong ministry—healing and freedom through confession, forgiveness, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Birth of VMTC

In the late 1970s, Anne founded Victorious Ministry Through Christ (VMTC) to equip believers with a biblical, Spirit-led model of prayer ministry. What began as training for clergy prayer teams soon expanded to include laypeople, empowering them to minister healing and freedom through structured, Spirit-directed prayer.

A Lasting Legacy

Anne’s impact continues today through her writings and teachings, which lay the foundation for VMTC’s core principles of prayer ministry. Now a global ministry, VMTC operates across multiple countries, bringing thousands into wholeness, freedom, and deeper intimacy with Christ.

VMTC’s International Expansion

Anne S. White recognized a critical gap in ministry—clergy often lacked confidential prayer support. This realization led to the founding of Victorious Ministry Through Christ (VMTC), initially focused on equipping ministers and their spouses as prayer ministers. However, as the need for healing prayer grew, laypeople also began to take an active role, becoming an integral part of the ministry. While clergy traditionally held leadership positions, this is evolving, with more lay leaders stepping into key roles.

The First VMTC Training School and Early Growth

The first VMTC training school was held in Florida in late 1970. The following year, VMTC Florida was formally established as an interdenominational charity, with Anne S. White serving as president alongside a board of directors representing various local churches.

From these humble beginnings, VMTC prayer ministry flourished internationally. Today, VMTC serves individuals in:

  • Sweden, Finland, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the USA, each with its own national board overseeing prayer ministry.
  • In Norway, the ministry is known as “Helhet gjennom Kristus” (Wholeness Through Christ).
  • VMTC Pakistan, once active, is currently experiencing a season of renewal and revival.
